Give The Gift Of Education

What is Sponsorship?
The Nation Foundation Sponsorship Program provides students the opportunity to complete their secondary studies by partnering students with sponsors. Sponsors have the option of giving a onetime gift that covers one school year or helping their sponsored student until graduation.

Who does my money go to?
100% of your donation goes directly to the school’s Bursars department, which provides a receipt to every student once their fees have been covered. School fees covers the following: tuition, meals, vocational classes, scholastic materials, and maintenance supplies.

How are students selected for the sponsorship program?
Every year the Nation Foundation receives a long list of students who are unable to return to school because families cannot afford the school fees. We partner these students with our sponsors to give them the opportunity to continue their studies until the end of high school. The Nation Foundation selects students through a needs-based lottery system.

Can I communicate with my sponsored student?
Yes! If you wish to communicate with your sponsored student, please feel free to contact us at email hidden; JavaScript is required and we will give you the information needed to contact your student.

How many terms are in a school year and how many terms does my sponsorship cover?
A school year in Uganda has three terms. The first term runs from February-April, the second term June- August, and the third term is from September- December. Your sponsorship covers one full year, which is equivalent to 3 terms.

Can I discontinue my sponsorship?
Sponsorship is a voluntary contribution to a child at one of our partnered schools in East Africa. We encourage donors to sponsor students for one year at a time.

Is my sponsorship donation tax deductible?
Yes, your donation to The Nation Foundation is 100% tax deductible. If you reside outside of the United States, please contact your tax consultant.
